We are an Organisation dedicated to finding solutions to the problems of urbanisation, rampant poverty and homelessness. Registered in June 2003, we aim to empower individuals and communities to become active participants in their own upliftment. We believe that true upliftment is not achieved by recognising a man's weaknesses, but by helping him to realise his strengths.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING

We are once again approaching that time of the year when we remember how God demonstrated His love for the world and we have a wonderful opportunity to do the same. Nothing is easier or more fun than loving children and we are fortunate in that these little ones are usually so easy to please.

We are planning a Christmas Party for the Village Children early in December and would like to give you the opportunity to enter into the spirit of giving by making a donation of a toy (new or second hand, in good condition) or a financial contribution marked with the reference ‘Christmas Party’ towards the purchase of snacks and cool drinks for the party. The gifts would be for children aged 6 months to 9 years. Gifts of baby clothing from birth to 6 months will be used as gifts for younger babies. All donations need to be in by late November or at the latest the first week in December.

Here are some of the precious little treasures who live in the Village or visit from time to time.

It is always necessary for us to collect gifts over and above the actual number of children to ensure that we have sufficient gifts, as there are always additional children who visit unexpectedly on the day even though we only hand out invitations at the last possible moment. One does not want to disappoint small children who are not able to understand etiquette or logistics. We do however, give an assurance that no gifts, snacks or cool drinks will be wasted as Tswelopele Step by Step always shares any overflow with the Moepathutse Children’s Home.

For those who have some questions regarding the presence of the children in the Village in relation to the Court Order: Some of the children were here prior to and during the establishment of the Village, However, apart from these, the Court Order makes provision for families to have reasonable access to their relatives who are registered to be in the Village, so some children and their mothers do visit their fathers and husbands from time to time.
